An infrared cabin is the answer when there is no three-phase supply, no drain and no room for a hot room — which describes most apartments in Kimihurura and Kacyiru.

What it is and what it is not

Infrared heats you, not the room. A cabin runs at 45-60 °C instead of 80-90 °C, draws 1.5 to 2.5 kW from an ordinary socket and is ready in twelve to fifteen minutes. It is not a Finnish sauna and we do not sell it as one — you do not throw water on anything, there is no löyly, and the experience is gentler and drier.

What it buys you is practicality. No three-phase application, no flue, no waterproofing, no drain. It arrives flat-packed, two people assemble it in an afternoon, and it can be taken apart and moved when the lease ends.

Panels and wiring

We fit full-spectrum carbon panels front, back and under the bench, and we care about the low-EMF wiring more than the marketing does — panels are close to your skin for half an hour at a time. Ask us for the panel spec sheet before you buy anything infrared from anyone.

Where it goes in a Kigali apartment

The usual spots are the end of a bedroom, a wide corridor, or a covered balcony with a roof. It needs a flat floor, 10 cm of clearance behind for the cable, and a socket on its own circuit. It does not need to be near water.

Infrared cabins: what we are asked

Is infrared as good as a real sauna?

It is a different thing. You will sweat, you will sleep better, and you will not get the 90 °C heat or the löyly. If you have the power and the space, build the real cabin. If you do not, an infrared cabin you actually use beats a Finnish sauna you cannot install.

Can it go on a balcony?

On a covered balcony, yes, with a sheltered socket. Open to the rain, no — the panels and the control board are not built for it.

How much does it add to the electricity bill?

At around 2 kW for forty minutes, a session is roughly 1.3 kWh. Check your current REG tariff band and multiply — it is closer to running a kettle than to running an air conditioner.
