Kibagabaga gardens fit the full circuit

Most plots here can take the complete arrangement — cabin, plunge, rinse shower and a shaded bench — without losing the garden. That matters, because the full sequence is what people keep using. A sauna on its own gets used twice a week; a sauna with cold water three steps away gets used most evenings.

Newer houses also mean newer wiring and, often, a supply that can be upgraded without rewiring the whole building.

Building while the house is finishing

A lot of work here happens on houses that are still being completed, which is the cheapest moment to do it. Drainage, a three-phase run and a level plinth cost almost nothing while the ground is open, and everything else can follow a year later. Ask the electrician to leave a spare conduit to the garden and a capped drain stub where the plunge will stand; both take an hour while the trench is open.

Typical brief

A four-to-six-person cabin with a covered deck, an aspen or basalt plunge, and a chiller tucked into the boundary planting. Families here often ask for a bench long enough for two people to lie down, which sets the cabin at 2.4 m minimum inside.

Children, lids and the plunge

Family gardens raise a practical point: a cold plunge is still standing water. We fit lockable insulated lids that an adult lifts with one hand and a child cannot, keep the rim at a sensible height, and lay a non-slip surface around the tub. The lid also does the most for your running cost — on a Kigali night it holds the temperature almost on its own.

Budget for the full zone

The whole sequence — a four-to-six-person cabin, a chilled plunge, a rinse shower and a covered bench — typically lands between about 8 and 17 million RWF supplied and installed: 4.6 – 9.5 million for the cabin depending on size and glass, and 3.4 – 7.4 million for a tub with a chiller.
